Our Volunteers - Barbara

BarbaraHello Everyone,  my name is Barbara.  Born and raised in Kansas.  I live in a samll town of about 1200 people.  Married 51 years, 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and 7 great grand children.   I retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. after 33 years.

My hobbies involve me working in my home, yard and flower gardens, and crocheting.   I love making afghans and sending them to our service men and women.

On July 2, 2010, PFC Steven Thompson made a surprise with Amy Paden while on leave from Iraq.  PFC Thompson personally thanked Barbara Billinger for the red, white, and blue crochet afghans.  Mrs. Billinger has literally made over 1,000 afghans to include in many of the care packages that "Hearts of America, Inc." has sent.  Thank you PFC Thompson for making it all worth while!
